SUSA VALLEY: ABBEY OF SANT’ANTONIO DI RANVERSO – SACRA DI SAN MICHELE
These are just two of the Susa Valley’s many gems. The first is one of the few examples of the International Gothic style in Turin, with early 15th-century frescoes and a 16th-century polyptych in the presbytery. The Sacra di San Michele, founded in the 11th century on the summit of Mount Pircheriano, about 1,000 metres above sea level, offers spectacular views over the valley and the plain. The complex is topped by the church, with its splendid architecture and 15th-century masterpieces. Free entry with Torino Piemonte Card http://www.turismotorino.org/card/testi/IT/A1128/Tariffe)
