Mondovì is built on several levels: the oldest Piazza district on the hill, with the Missione church, a Baroque masterpiece by Andrea Pozzo, and the striking façades overlooking the Piazza Maggiore; the lower part with the Church of Santi Pietro e Paolo; the Breo district along the Ellero river; and the Altipiano residential district. The Piazza and Breo districts are connected by a cable railway. A few kilometres away lies Vicoforte, famous for having the largest frescoed oval dome in the world: definitely a sight not to be missed!
